Data description CLC2006

For CLC2006, the following products for Germany are offered (Format: Shape-Format):

  • CORINE Land Cover 2006 vector dataset (Status 2006)
  • Vector dataset of CLC changes (between 2000 and 2006)

In addition, to further products are beeing provided:

  • Vector dataset with the the technical changes (see below)
  • Vector dataset with the used definition of map units (TK100 map sheets 1:100 000) for CLC2000 and CLC2006

The vector data of CLC2006 is available in the projections of Gauss-Krüger Zone 3, Gauss-Krüger Zone 4 or UTM Zone 32.

CLC06 - Attributes CORINE Land Cover 2006

In this dataset, the CORINE Land Cover Class for 2006 is characterized as result of the GIS derivation (by combining the (partly) corrected status of CLC2000 and the information on real and technical changes) and the necessary generalization. The minimum mapping unit (MMU) for the polygons of CLC2006 is 25 m.

CHA06R - Attributes Real Changes

In this dataset, the interpreted real changes are characterized between the reference years 2000 and 2006. The minimum mapping unit (MMU) of the changes is 5 ha. In case of a composite of elementary changes, the neighbouring polygons having the same old status or the same new status had to be combined to fullfill the 5 ha criteria.

CHA06T - Attributes Technical Changes

The product of technical changes is an additional information layer which was necessary in order to derive a more realistic picture of the CLC2006 status. This is a result of the different mapping units (MMUs), for real change polygons and for the CLC2006 polygons.

In the case of an artificial lake having a seize of 20 ha in 2000 (not mapped in CLC2000), which was enlarged on further 12 ha between 2000 and 2006, the delineation of the 20 ha part was to be included as technical change. By summing up the technical and real change, the seize of 32 ha can be derived for the status of new lake polygon (characterized in CLC2006).

MU_DE_TK100 - Definition of the used mapping units for CLC2000 and CLC2006

In this additional information layer, the mapping units are presented which were used for the interpretation and map production for CLC2000 and CLC2006. The mapping units are defined by four corner coordinates. They describe more or less the extensions of the 1:100 000 map sheets (TK100) in Germany. These mapping units can be combined with CLC2006 to extract subregions of Germany.
